Are you interested in joining our early childhood organisation but aren’t sure what opportunities are available? We have lots of different roles at our childcare centres, including roles for those who are new to the sector and those who have been in the field for a very long time.
Each centre has a team of educators and supporting staff that meet the requirements of early childhood regulations, as well as the needs of our children and families. Educators may start in one role but have multiple opportunities throughout their employment to move into different roles, different rooms, and even into management positions.
Each centre will have the following roles available:
- Centre Director
- Centre Second-in-Charge (2IC)
- Centre Third-in-Charge (3IC)
- Educational Leader
- Early Childhood Teachers (ECT) / Kindergarten Teachers
- Room Leaders
- Room Assistants
- Multi-Aged Educators / Floaters / Breaks Cover Staff
- Centre Cook
In order to work in an Early Childhood Teacher or Kindergarten Teacher capacity, educators need to have completed a university degree in early childhood education, such as a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, Masters of Teaching in Early Childhood, or a Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education. Degrees can be completed on campus or online, and can take 1-4 years, depending on the enrolment criteria.
In order to work as a Room Leader or Qualified Early Childhood Educator, employees are required to have a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent. Diplomas can be completed on campus or online, and can take 1-2 years, depending on the enrolment criteria.
Assistants support Room Leaders, Qualified Educators and the centres to manage rooms and care for children. In order to work as an Assistant Early Childhood Educator, employees are required to have, or be enrolled in, a Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent. Certificates can be completed on campus or online, and can take 1-2 years, depending on the enrolment criteria.
We employ educators with a range of qualifications and experience. Educators in leadership or seniority roles are competent and passionate about training and supporting educators who are new to the sector. They will expand on the knowledge of new employees through guidance, mentoring, resources and hands-on learning experiences. There are regular opportunities to progress into new roles throughout the centre and organisation, including promotion into management positions. Staff are encouraged to apply for any roles that are available.
We have developed some key roles for educators showing interest and skills in certain areas, e.g., Educational Leader. We also have centre teams for educators interested in improving, implementing and reviewing practices and procedures within the organisation, such as the Wellbeing Team, Green Team, Emergency Management Team, and Inclusion Support Team, just to name a few.
